The first floor is a collaborative and instructional shared with Computer Science, Humanities, and UChicago Arts. These spaces include:
- Computer Science Instructional Laboratory (CSIL)
- Media Arts Data and Design Center (MADD), including the Hack Arts Lab and Winston Game Center
- Peaches@University Cafe
In addition, the first floor has a Mother's Room, a single-user, all-gender restroom, and an information desk managed by Computer Science staff.
