There are several large tables in the center of the floor, as well as a few individual tables and standing height desks along its perimeter, all intended for quiet study.No food is permitted in Regenstein's bookstacks.

The Social Work Library reading room is a large open space with a southern exposure of floor-to-ceiling windows allowing for lots of natural light during the day. There are a variety of seating options including couches, a rocking chair, large tables for spreading out your materials, and a pinwheel study carrel. There is also a smaller study area behind the bookstacks with single-user desks. Most of the furniture was either designed or selected by Mies van der Rohe.
