This is a listing of the University of Chicago Library Middle East Department's holdings of manuscript copies on microfilm and microfiche. The entries are listed by author where available or by title where the author is not known. The number to the left of the entry is either the call number, for cataloged materials, or an accession number, for uncataloged items.
The links below lead to an old version of this list. An updated and expanded list is coming soon. The same is true for the PDF catalog: the link below is to an older version, but a new version will be available soon. (We are currently checking that all information is correct and consistent. This is a time-consuming job, but we want to provide accurate information.)
Please note that the manuscripts listed here are available for use only at the University of Chicago's Regenstein Library. Please consult a staff member in the Middle East Department office, JRL 560 (open Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5PM), for access and further information, or contact Marlis Saleh (msaleh@uchicago.edu) in advance. Because of copyright restrictions they cannot be duplicated for sale or exchange.
There are two ways to view the Manuscripts in Microformat list: a browser-friendly version in which the entries have no diacritics and a downloadable PDF which preserves all diacritics. The browser-friendly list is divided into three sections to make it more manageable.

Please note that the pdf version is slightly more up to date (though still out of date), but that the Web-friendly version can be more easily searched using any web browsing program.
