Exhibition curated by Alice Schreyer, Director of Special Collections Research Center.
The codex manuscript collection has been temporarily relocated to the inner exhibition gallery cases during the reconfiguration project. A selection of manuscripts, chosen according to the serendipitous principle that they were too large to fit into the upright wall cases, is on display throughout the year. Items on display reflect the variety of the department's codex manuscript holdings and include a seventeenth-century Spanish antiphonal, George Nathan Christie's "Dialogue Book and Playbills" [New York, 1839-1854] and an album of photographs from the "Visit of their excellencies the Viceroy and the Countess of Elgin to Gualior" [India, 1895].
