Exhibition curated by Susan Sessions Rugh, Special Collections Research Center Exhibition Researcher.
Harper, son of the University's founding president William Rainey Harper, pioneered Russian studies in this country. From 1904 to 1939, Harper traveled frequently to Russia, bearing witness to the aftermath of the country's dramatic upheavals. The materials he collected during his visits-from postcards to political propaganda-compose this exhibit, displayed in the alcoves of the Special Collections gallery.
