“The Change”
This is gonna be a quick run down of the person I was and the person I am today. This is a story that has drama, love, hate, significant others, children, incarceration, drug dealing, and much more. With all these events of life mixed in one drink, I found myself at the bar in Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro, Illinois. Due to this bar being inside of a prison they didn’t serve alcohol. I found a new drug called sobriety. This sobriety thing tasted better than any drink I’ve ever had. I was able to deal with other inmates that have yet to indulge in this drug. Sounds crazy rite but I have truly become addicted to being sober. There’s a catch 22 when you try to do the rite thing. People don’t like a better you so I found myself fighting for my beliefs in prison. Now being sober I’ve grown to respect myself and others. I want to be hands on in my kids’ lifes…treat my wife like the queen she is and chase my dreams not another prison sentence instead of being reckless respect the change.
