UChicago Roots
In 1974, Chey Jong-hyon’s 100-year vision to cultivate a forest of leaders led him to establish the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies. KFAS and its scholarship programs provide talented Korean students the opportunities to study overseas and earn doctoral degrees that help them contribute to the global community after graduation in academia, government, business, and the private sector. Students in these cases represent some of the KFAS scholarship recipients who studied at UChicago and highlight their achievements and impacts.
