Jiwoong Park’s research focuses on the science and technology of nanomaterials. The primary goals of his research are to construct atomically thin integrated circuitry and to develop such cutting-edge technologies as high-efficiency solar cells through exploration of the electrical and optical properties of low-dimensional nanostructures. Jiwoong Park has held positions as Associate Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Cornell University and currently serves as Professor of Molecular Engineering and Chemistry at the University of Chicago and Associate Editor of Nano Letters, an academic journal devoted to the study of nanoscience and technology. In 2009 Jiwoong Park was awarded the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers and in 2008 he received the National Science Foundation CAREER Award.
