This exhibition commemorates the centennial of the birth of Julius Rosenwald, president and chairman of the board of Sears, Roebuck & Co., and a major philanthropist in support of progressive and social welfare reforms. The thirty thousand letters and documents left by him, a selection of which are contained in this exhibition, chronicle thirty years of public benefactions that affected a broad range of American society, from health and education to Jewish charities, aid to families, and legal justice.
