About This Exhibit

Concrete Poetry, Concrete Book was curated by Caroline Lillian Schopp, PhD candidate in art history.

Hannah B. Higgins and Joseph B. Reinstein, Christine Mehring and Sean Keller, and Christopher Wool kindly lent books from their private collections.

Staff at the Special Collections Research Center generously supported the preparation of this show, particularly Patti Gibbons, Daniel Meyer, Joseph Scott, Sem Sutter, and Catherine Uecker. Nancy Spiegel, Bibliographer of Art and Cinema, has expertly grown the collection of postwar Germanic artists’ books over the past decade to include many of the works on view. The Concrete Happenings team, led by Christine Mehring and Bill Michel, collaborated in vital ways as this show developed.
