This collection includes news clippings and memorabilia documenting the long and varied career of Prabodh Chandra Dey (May 1, 1919-October 24, 2013), better known by his stage name Manna Dey. Dey was a renowned vocalist, musician, music director, and playback singer from Kolkata, India. Though he recorded songs in numerous genres and languages, he was best known for his work in Bengali and Hindi cinema, with performances featured on the soundtracks of at least 175 Indian films.
