Website Project Fellow at the D’Angelo Law Library
Fellow Coordinator: Sheri Lewis, Director of the D’Angelo Law Library
General Summary:
The Website Project Fellow will develop a website for Professor Alison LaCroix’s forthcoming book, The Interbellum Constitution: Union, Commerce, and Slavery in the Age of Federalisms (Yale University Press, 2024). The Fellow would gain experience developing and organizing information about a scholarly work on a website, acquire knowledge in U.S. Legal History, and learn skills in collaboration, creativity, and presentation of information for a virtual audience. The fellowship also introduces the student to the work at a professional school and the service side of academia, which would better prepare them for work in the broader non-profit sector.
Activities:
- The Website Project Fellow will work with Professor Alison LaCroix, the Robert Newton Reid Professor of Law and Associate Member of the History Department, to develop a vision and content strategy for the website.
- Consult other websites devoted to scholarly books for design and presentation models.
- Write descriptive text and curate images for the website.
- Ensure operability and accessibility for the website.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a UChicago graduate program and in good academic standing during the period of the fellowship.
- Experience creating information on web pages and using web content management software.
- Experience working with digital images.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
The Fellowship carries a stipend of $3,300 with expectation of 150 hours of effort.
