UChicago alumni gain access to JSTOR through Library subscription

University of Chicago’s alumni now have free access to an enormous array of online scholarly resources through a new JSTOR subscription provided by the Library.

This new subscription will give alumni access to all of the journals the Library provides to UChicago faculty and students through JSTOR—including more than 2,500 full-text titles. JSTOR’s academic journals cover a broad range of topics in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences from 1,200 publishers and 57 countries.

“We know that ready access to academic resources is extremely important to University of Chicago alumni, whether they are pursuing careers in academia or a wide variety of other professions,” said Brenda Johnson, Library Director and University Librarian. “Many alumni learned to use JSTOR at the University of Chicago as students and want to be able to continue to do so when they graduate. We are delighted to be able to provide this frequently requested database to the full community of UChicago alumni around the world.”

This JSTOR subscription offers alumni access to more than twice as many journals as UChicago Alumni’s previous subscription to EBSCO Academic Search Alumni Edition, which will be phased out in February.
