Resource Spotlight - LLMC Indigenous Law Portal

In honor of President Biden's recent proclamation declaring November as National Native American Heritage Month, we're highlighting LLMC Indigenous Law Portal.

What is LLMC Indigenous Law Portal?

LLMC is a nonprofit committed to preserving law and making copies available digitally through its online service LLMC-Digital. The Indigenous Law Portal is an open access resource available through LLMC-Digital. The Indigenous Law Portal is a valuable resource for researching indigenous law throughout the world. The portal was first created by the Library of Congress to help organize and provide access to North American indigenous legal materials, such as websites, codes, Constitutions, and charters. Since the collection has transferred to LLMC-Digital, the coverage has expanded to include resources covering Indigenous Tribes outside of North America.

How do I access the Indigenous Law Portal?

You can access LLMC-Digital from the Law Databases webpage on the U.S. Law page. The Indigenous Law Portal is on the LLMC-Digital landing page.
