Founded in 2010, the Arts, Science Culture Initiative (ASCI) at the University of Chicago cultivates collaboration, active exchange, and sustained dialogue among those engaged in artistic and scientific inquiry within the University and beyond. Julie Marie Lemon founded the initiative on the principle of bringing together graduate students and faculty from across disciplines and observing the results of their collaborations.
ASCI founded the Graduate Fellows program in 2014 to address interest from graduate students to engage more broadly without collaborating on specific projects. Graduate Collaboration Grants allowed for inter-institutional collaboration between University of Chicago graduate students and MFA candidates at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).
This collection includes promotional materials, and student projects, including Field Guides, flipbooks of the Graduate Fellow’s research.
