Biographical Note

Howard Stein (1929 - ) is an emeritus professor at the University of Chicago in the Department of Philosophy. He received a BA from Columbia University in 1947 and a PhD from the University of Chicago from the Department of Philosophy in 1958 and a MS from the University of Michigan from the Department of Mathematics in 1959. His work in philosophy has centered on the philosophy of physics and mathematics, particularly the history of these fields, from ancient times to the twentieth century.

This is a collection of Stein’s lectures recorded by Heather Blair.
