Historical Note

The Labor and Socialist International (LSI) was an international organization of socialist and labor parties, active from 1923 to 1940. This special conference was held in August 1933 in urgent response to the rise of fascism and Adolf Hitler, and the crumbling of the German Social Democratic Party. This was the fifth meeting of the LSI. Stapled booklet of mimeographed documents, including majority and minority reports by delegates including David H. Felix, Maynard Krueger, Edward Levinson, Clarence Senior, and Jacob Panken, a transcript of a speech given at the conference by Maynard Krueger, and resolutions adopted by the conference, together with eleven sheets of carbon-copied typewritten notes by a delegate to the conference in Paris detailing daily happenings and noting the presence of two dissidents.
