The Department of Physiology was founded with the establishment of the University of Chicago's first Courses of Instruction in 1892. Notable faculty in the department have included Franklin C. McLean, Arno B. Luckhardt, Anton Julius Wilson, and the groundbreaking sleep researcher Nathaniel Kleitman.
This collection contains meeting minutes for the years 1936-1958, student grade books for the years 1901-1931, a statement for the Department Fund (a petty cash fund), and a notebook containing descriptive lists of seminars given 1931-1945.
