Scope Note

Treatise on grammar and rhetoric. Includes decorated initials, pen and ink drawings, and blue and red ornament. The decorated initials only go through fol. 96, after there are blank spaces left for initials but not filled in.

The first eleven leaves of the codex are missing, it begins with fol. 12. The missing leaves contained rules 1 and 2 of the grammar.

Provenance: Cardinal Braschi (approximately the 1760s) and Marquis of Taccone of Naples (approximately late 18th century). Purchased by the University of Chicago from Calvary, S., & Co., Berlin in 1891.
