Biographical Note

Fred Feldkamp was born on March 12, 1914,in Newark, New Jersey. He served as a Marine Corps correspondent in World War II. Following the war, he became an editor for books and magazines, including Life As editor of the humor magazine For Men, he published articles by James Thurber, Irving Wallace, Zane Grey, and others during the 1930s and 1940s. He also worked as a film director, and as the producer for Operation Manhunt (1954), The Silken Affair (1956), and Triple Cross (1966).

Feldkamp was literary editor for American humorist Will Cuppy, who was also a close friend of Feldkamp and his wife, fashion writer Phyllis Dubsky Feldkamp. Fred published some of Cuppy’s writings in For Men and, after Cuppy passed away, completed and published his final two books.

Feldkamp died on December 7, 1981, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
