The Committee on Public Policy Studies was organized in 1974 as a multidisciplinary degree-recommending body of the University of Chicago. It was created to form a focal point for collaboration among the faculty of the University of Chicago and to create a training program for students in the policy analysis and program management fields. In 1988 the Committee became the Irving B. Harris Graduate School Public Policy.
The Committee on Public Policy Studies at the University of Chicago Papers consists of two boxes containing correspondence, minutes, reports, publicity flyers, newsletters, and other materials related to the Committee from 1969 to 1982.
