| Abstract: | This is a collection of University of Chicago Spode plates manufactured in 1931 by Copeland & Sons depicting views of twelve of the University's Gothic buildings. The plates were advertised to alumni in June 1930 through the University of Chicago Magazine. Initially, the alumni council planned to make 300 sets, but the plates were popular, and they increased manufacturing to 1490 sets. |
