Abstract: | Camp Farr was a fresh-air children's summer camp near Chesterton, Indiana, established by the University of Chicago Settlement League. The League was founded in 1895 as a philanthropic organization, and Shirley Farr, a University of Chicago alumna, donated $3000 in 1923 for the purchase of land that would become Camp Farr. The photo album that makes up this collection belonged to Alfred Kamm, the Director of Physical Education at the camp. Photographs date from 1930 to 1931. |
