MBL Associated Researchers
Scientists at the Marine Biological Laboratory who have been designated as MBL Associated Researchers by the University of Chicago Provost are eligible for library privileges as part of the formal affiliation between the University of Chicago and the Marine Biological Laboratory.
MBL Associated Researchers will first need to claim a CNetID in order to take advantage of their privileges at the University of Chicago Library.
For more information about eligibility, contact the MBL Division of Research at researchprograms@mbl.edu.
Accessing electronic resources
MBL Associated Researchers will continue to access MBLWHOI electronic resources as in the past.
In addition, MBL Associated Researchers have access to most electronic resources licensed by the University of Chicago through our Proxy Server.
Please follow the instructions for Off-Campus Access.
Document delivery services
Scan & Deliver: MBL Associated Researchers may request scans of book chapters and journal articles from the University of Chicago Library print collections to be delivered electronically.
Interlibrary Loan: MBL Associated Researchers may also request material via Interlibrary Loan, but should be aware that physical materials may only be delivered to campus libraries in Chicago.
MBL Associated Researchers may therefore find it more convenient to request physical materials via the Interlibrary Loan services of the MBLWHOI Library.
Access and borrowing privileges at campus libraries
MBL Associated Researchers are eligible for access to all campus libraries as well as quarterly borrowing privileges.
MBL Associated Researchers interested in accessing campus libraries in person and establishing borrowing privileges should contact the ID & Privileges Office in order to be issued a Campus Card.
